In a significant leadership shift, L’Oréal Groupe has appointed Ali Goldstein as the President of Acquisitions for L’Oréal USA. This transition follows the retirement of Carol Hamilton, who has had an impactful career at the company. Goldstein’s new role will entail identifying and securing innovative beauty brands and services across the United States, working closely with L’Oréal’s four key segments: mass market, luxury, dermatological, and professional beauty.

Goldstein’s Experience and Journey

Goldstein has been a part of the L’Oréal family for over 20 years, bringing invaluable experience to her new position. She has most recently led the iconic L’Oréal Paris brand in the US since 2019. Goldstein’s journey with the company began in 2001, where she held various leadership positions that showcased her talents in brands like Maybelline and Garnier.

Strategic Focus and Leadership Transition

Before taking on her current appointment, she was the Senior Vice President of Strategy & Business Development within the Consumer Products Division. In that capacity, her focus was on uncovering new pathways for business growth, including evaluating potential acquisitions. With Hamilton’s retirement slated for May after an impressive 40-year tenure, Goldstein steps into this crucial role at a pivotal time for the company.

Leadership Supervision and Corporate Restructuring

David Greenberg, CEO of L’Oréal USA and President of the North America Zone, will directly supervise Goldstein. He praised her extensive knowledge of the industry and her keen insight into emerging trends as critical reasons for her selection. Greenberg emphasized Goldstein’s demonstrated success in brand development and strategic growth as assets for her new leadership position.

This change in leadership is part of a broader restructuring within L’Oréal’s US operations this year, which has also seen Tina Fair ascend to the role of President of the Consumer Products Division for the North America Zone, succeeding Nathalie Gerschtein. Goldstein’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for L’Oréal USA as it continues to adapt and thrive in a dynamic beauty market.
