This significant milestone is part of Kao’s ambitious Global Sharp Top Strategy, which is focused on establishing a strong presence in premium market segments through high-quality products. The launch of the flagship store reflects Kao’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its portfolio in the luxury beauty and personal care sectors.

Founded in London in 1971, Molton Brown is renowned for its luxurious fragrances, as well as an impressive range of bath, body, and home products. All of these offerings are crafted in a dedicated manufacturing facility on the outskirts of London, ensuring a consistent commitment to quality.

An Engaging Retail Experience

Spanning 70 square meters, the flagship store is strategically situated within Ciputra World Surabaya Mall, a high-end shopping hub in West Surabaya. The store’s design immerses customers in the rich world of Molton Brown, creating a unique shopping environment.

A standout feature of this location is The Fragrance Playground. This innovative area uses augmented reality (AR) technology to bring fragrance elements to life, offering visitors an engaging and educational journey through the brand’s scents. Visitors will also encounter the brand’s latest initiative, the “Artists of Note” campaign, which reimagines classic fragrances through collaborations with British creators, emphasizing Molton Brown’s identity as a fragrance-first brand.

Expanding Horizons in Indonesia and the Region

As part of its growth strategy, Molton Brown aims to elevate its luxury amenities in high-end hotels in Bali. This initiative is part of a broader omnichannel approach that combines retail, e-commerce, and travel retail. The brand’s regional expansion strategy is robust, with recent openings in Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Macao, alongside plans for future locations in Singapore and Thailand.

Kao Corporation’s impressive portfolio also includes esteemed brands such as Sensai, Kanebo, Suqqu, and Curél, showcasing its diverse presence in the premium beauty market. This expansion reflects a dynamic approach in catering to the growing demand for luxury products in Asia.
