Leadership Transition at AS Watson
AS Watson Group has made a significant announcement: Clarice Au will step into the role of Chief Executive Officer for the company’s retail division in Hong Kong beginning March 1, 2025. In her new position, Au will oversee a variety of operations, including renowned health and beauty store Watsons, as well as PARKnSHOP, Fortress, and Watson’s Wine.
Clarice Au’s Experience and Vision
Clarice Au brings with her an extensive history with AS Watson, having joined the company in 1998. Throughout her tenure, she has taken on various leadership roles, from overseeing airport retail to most recently managing the MoneyBack loyalty program. Her breadth of experience positions her well to enhance customer service and drive innovation within the organization.
With her appointment, Au is eager to build upon the solid groundwork laid by AS Watson. She plans to tap into the skills of the workforce and forge strong collaborations with business partners. Au underscored the critical need to elevate customer experiences across AS Watson’s vast network of over 500 locations.
Navigating a Changing Retail Landscape
As the retail landscape in Hong Kong rapidly evolves, Au recognizes the importance of agility and adaptability to seize new opportunities and stay ahead of the competition.
This leadership change comes on the heels of Clare Jennings being named the new Property Director, taking over for Nigel Duxbury, who is set to retire on May 2 after two decades with the company. Additionally, in 2024, AS Watson appointed Malina Ngai as the Group CEO, following her successful stints as Group Chief Operating Officer and CEO for AS Watson Asia & Europe. Ngai succeeded Dominic Lai, who stepped down after 17 years at the helm.
